Tim Albores, PSD202 Director of Student Services

Tim Albores started his career as a social worker in residential facilities both in rural Iowa and in the near west side of Chicago.  It was there that he found passion in advocating for youth as they transitioned through difficult circumstances. He became dedicated to ensuring their continued success both in the home and school setting.  Tim left the residential setting and began his work in schools as a school social worker at Heritage Grove Middle School, Joliet Alternate High School, and Komarek School in North Riverside. Tim then worked as Team Leader for Student Services for two years at Wrightwood Charter School in Chicago before returning to District 202 in 2012.  There he served as assistant principal at Plainfield Academy and eventually transitioned to a new position as Director of Student Services for Emotional Disabilities and high schools. Most importantly, he is a proud husband and father of three wonderfully active young girls.

Christine Belcastro, PSD202 Counselor Plainfield East High School

Christine has been a School Counselor in District 202 since 2007. She has a passion for helping others and guiding students in a direction that helps them grow to their best potential. Christine considers PPCN an excellent committee to be a part of, as she can branch out and help provide resources to the community her students live in. Christine graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in English and has a M.A. in School Counseling and M.S. in Educational Leadership. Christine is married with two sons.

Kai Freeman, Principal Drauden Point Middle School

Freeman started his education career in 2006 as a physical education teacher at Thornwood High School. He served from 2012-2013 as the Interim Assistant Athletic Director and the Athletic Director at Thornwood, then came to District 202 in 2013 as the Dean of Students at PEHS for 3 years. He then moved to Assistant Principal for the next 2 years, before becoming the Principal at DPMS in 2018.

Jenny Hamby, Marketing Professional/District 202 Parent

Jenny Hamby is a Certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach and copywriter whose Plainfield business specializes in promoting live and virtual events, online courses and other information products. A personal development enthusiast, she credits Jack Canfield’s Success Principle #1, “Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life,” with helping her family successfully navigate her daughter’s OCD diagnosis. She is passionate about dispelling the stigma of mental health challenges and about using education to transform lives. Jenny holds degrees journalism and political science and worked in the not-for-profit sector for six years before founding her business in 2000. She lives in Plainfield with her husband and two children.

Tasha Marsaglia, Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber Of Commerce Executive Director/District 202 Parent

Tasha Marsaglia is the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director and has been with PSACC for ten years. Prior to PSACC Tasha worked in higher Education in Admissions and Community Relations where she had a chance to be involved in the chamber world. PSACC welcome the many business and industries to our area and are the voice for issues and actions affecting business and industry. The Chamber is committed to tract and affect economic growth, keep pace with the changes of marketing and consumer habits and assist its members with their needs- providing program and benefits to enhance their facility, operation, administration and personal or general welfare. PSACC is a growing organization with just under 700 businesses/organizations as members. “Becoming a part of the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber has been a very rewarding experience for me. I have always enjoyed getting to know the community I live in and work in. Since being at the Chamber we had had opportunities to grow and extend more into our community.” Tasha is a graduate of Chowan University and has a degree in Liberal Studies. Tasha resides in Plainfield with her husband Eric and four children who all attend District 202 schools.

Mary Ellen Miller, Retired Plainfield Academy Clinical Director/District 202 Parent

Mary Ellen Miller has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the past 32 years. Mary Ellen has been with District 202 for the past 15 years, first as a Social Worker at Grand Prairie Elementary for 5 years and then as Clinical Director for the Therapeutic Academic Program (TAP) at Plainfield Academy for the past 10 years. Prior to joining District 202 Mary Ellen worked as a community organizer for 5 years and as a hospital social worker for 10 years. Mary Ellen holds a Masters of Social Work from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, a Masters of Science in Education from the University of St. Francis-Joliet and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Mary’s College – Michigan. Mary Ellen grew up in New Jersey & Michigan and has lived in Plainfield with her husband for the past 24 years.

Brian Sorg, PSD202 Principal Meadowview Elementary/ District 202 Parent

Brian Sorg is currently the Principal at Meadow View Elementary in Plainfield School District #202. In 2001, he started his career in District #202 as a 3rd grade teacher at Wesmere Elementary, before becoming the Assistant Principal at Creekside Elementary. He holds a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, both from the University of St. Francis, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from North Central College. Brian and his wife live in Plainfield with their four sons.

Corey Worden, Clinical Psychotherapist/District 202 Parent

Corey Worden is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with experience counseling individuals, couples, families, and groups in inpatient and outpatient hospital-based behavioral health programs and community-based mental health and substance abuse treatment. His practice focuses on adults of all ages and adolescents typically ages 14 and up. He holds a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University-Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Eastern Illinois University. Corey grew up in Plainfield and has made his home here with his wife and five children.
